Independent Living Show
Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September
10am – 4pm
Visit our FREE mini retirement show

In September Auchlochan Retirement Village will host MHA’s first ever Independent Living Show featuring exhibition stalls and informative seminars covering activities, hobbies and well-being for our older generation. “With a bouncy castle, games and other activities for the rest of the family, this is an event not to be missed” says organiser Sharon Morley.

There will be several themes running throughout the two days. Cooking demonstrations will take place in our Food Festival Arena where exhibitors including award winning Macsweens Haggis will be showing their skills and produce. For those who enjoy sport, snooker, golf putting, carpet bowls and a variety of other sports will be available so that you can have a try. In the Health and Life Style arena take the opportunity to have a foot-care or blood pressure check-up. Browse around the exhibition stands and make sure you pop to the benefit entitlement stand to ensure you are claiming everything you are entitled to. An art exhibition and local crafts will be on show and for sale, and running throughout both days, seminars, guided walks and a variety of demonstrations and activities have been organised. You must also ensure you do not miss your chance to bid for a bargain at our MHA Auchlochan auction which will take place on both days.

Don’t be surprised if you hear the distinctive sounds of a Scottish pipe band wafting over Auchlochans trade-mark decorative lochans.

Register your attendance in advance by emailing or telephone Freephone: 0800 085 6962 and you could be the winner of an all inclusive FREE Weekend for Two at Auchlochan.

Auchlochan partners with MHA

Auchlochan has been overseen by its own Trust for 30 years. The Trust has entered into a partnership with MHA from October 2008 and it will become a charitable company limited by guarantee and a subsidiary of MHA in 2009. This move will provide Auchlochan with the financial and organisational base that it needs for further growth.
Auchlochan is a community designed specifically for older people, set in 50 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and wooded grounds
Auchlochan provides safety and security for older people to enjoy later life, with a range of care and support available as it’s needed to allow people to continue to live at Auchlochan as care needs change.
Apartments and care suites are available to buy or rent and new apartments will be available in 2009. Interested parties are encouraged to register their interest with Auchlochan on 01555 893 592.
Auchlochan has entered into the partnership with MHA because both organisations share the same ethos and priorities.
MHA, a UK charity that already owns four housing facilities in Scotland, was founded by the Methodist Church in 1943 and aims "to improve the quality of life for older people, inspired by Christian concern".
It has a reputation for emphasising the spiritual well-being of older people as well as caring for their physical needs.
Auchlochan’s existing pastoral support will be maintained and enhanced by MHA’s UK-wide chaplaincy network.
Auchlochan Board Member Dennis Steele says: "Our partnership with MHA ensures that older people will continue to benefit from the wide range of care facilities and the wonderful setting that Auchlochan offers. Under its new management, this pioneering "care village", built up with love and care over 30 years, will continue to offer older people a home for life for the next 30 years and beyond."
